Texas, the Lone Star State has
been our home over the past five years (Humair's home for six). Let us take you through those years, our homes, and the places
we lived in.

Sonora, TX (1998 - 2001)
Our married life began in the little town of Sonora which at the time had
a population of 2,000 people, although it really didn't look like it did. We'd often get excited if we actually saw another
car on the road besides ours! Once we asked the local grocery store for yogurt, and the attendant looked at us and said "what's
yogurt?" We usually had to drive an hour to San Angelo to get our groceries. Luckily, San Antonio was only two-and-half hours
away so every chance we got, we'd escape there to get away from the stresses of work and to enjoy life a little. Sonora, however,
gave us some really good friends, a wonderful little apartment (and my first driver's licence!).
Surprisingly, Sonora has one of the best 9-hole golf courses in Texas. Unfortunately,
we don't play golf! We also never had the time to learn, so we never really enjoyed the best thing the town had to offer.

Perryton, TX (2001 - 2003)
We moved to Perryton in the fall, and I remember how excited we were that there was a United Supermarket there... it
meant we didn't need to drive an hour to get groceries! The bad part was that now the nearest airport was two hours away along
with the nearest mall, and the drive wasn't the safest, especially at night.
Our home there was a really nice renovated house and it brought us the friendship and love of a very nice cat who remained
my companion througout our stay there. She also had her kittens in our backyard, of which one remained behind and added to
the love in our home. We made some good friends here too. Humair and I often ate at Money's BBQ and occasionally the
Perryton Club. My favorite spot in Perryton was the only coffee shop there, Alley Cats, and occasionally I'd browse the shops
on main street. Perryton also had a nice little movie theatre where we could go to watch movies without having to drive an
hour or so. It was a good town, but mostly I really miss my cats!

Houston (2003 - 2004)
Spring 2003 brought us to Houston. Although still in Texas, this is the first time we're actually in a city with a mall
and an airport! We had visited Houston on many occasions and always wondered how great it must be to live in a real city. It's
a real treat, after living in small towns, to be able to go into a theatre that's playing all the new movies that are out;
to be able to drive five minutes and be at a Walmart, or drive 30 minutes and be at the Galleria! The home
we're renting is right outside of Sugar Land, but still close to Humair's work place. It's a big house to take care of,
considering there's only two of us living in it. It's been great, however, at accomodating our families when the came
to visit us, especially mine... 6 people and a cat!
There's so much to do in Houston., so many places to eat and so many things to see. We've enjoyed eating out at some
great restaurants and tried a great variety of cuisine. We've also been busy the past year visitng the Kemah Boardwalk,
the Houston Space Center, Six Flags Astro World , the Downtown Aquarium, and the Houston Auto Show
in April '04, and after all this there's still so much of Houston we haven't seen! We also have some old friends and some
family here, although sometimes the distances in Houston can sometimes keep us from meeting as often as we'd like.
But it's been great. We're grateful that our final home in the US was in Houston and we got the chance to enjoy the luxuries
of a metropolitan US city.
